There are multiple contexts of awareness so let me begin by giving a brief definition of each according to google.
- Self-Awareness- recognizing and understanding one’s own thoughts, emotions, and actions.
- Social Awareness- considering perspectives of other individuals, groups, or communities and apply that understanding to interactions with them.
- Emotional Awareness- the ability to recognize and make sense of your own and others’ emotions.
- Spiritual Awareness- process of discovering our true self, awakening to our true nature as spirt and recognizing the intricate threads that interlace all forms of existence.
At our core, we are born human first. But immediately after, we are categorized by our differences. Due to the influences of societal constructs, the environments we are raised in, and the information we are fed—whether by our families, schools, or larger systems—we often lose sight of the common thread that binds us: our shared humanity. While our differences in race, culture, beliefs, and personal experiences enrich the world, they should never overshadow the undeniable truth that we are all born human, with the same fundamental heartbeat and the same potential to connect with something greater than ourselves.
From the beginning of time, humans have proven to be resourceful, deeply intuitive, and spiritually attuned beings. Our ability to innovate, adapt, and thrive in changing conditions is inscribed in our DNA. Yet, as we grow, many of us are raised in environments that either nurture or stifle that innate awareness.
We are taught narratives—often rooted in fear, greed, and control—that shape the way we perceive the world and ourselves. History has been rewritten, facts distorted, and truths buried to serve agendas that strip us of the knowledge we need to navigate life with clarity and purpose. We are fed not only misinformation but also physical nourishment that weakens us at a cellular level, diminishing our ability to think critically, connect spiritually, and tap into our natural-born gifts.
And yet, despite these challenges, we each have a responsibility—a calling—to reclaim our awareness and educate ourselves. The truth is, awareness is not something handed to us; it’s something we must fight for. It’s not just about knowing who we are, but also about understanding how our actions, emotions, and beliefs impact the world around us.
In this modern age, where voices are often drowned out before they’ve had a chance to form, it is our duty to rediscover the voice we were born with. We must fight for knowledge and truth—not just for ourselves but for the collective good. While we cannot rewrite the injustices of the past, we can ensure that the stories we write today make sense, hold truth, and remain unburied for future generations.
Awareness is a journey. It begins with self-awareness but grows into something much bigger: a recognition of our place within the larger tapestry of humanity and an understanding of how our choices ripple across the world. It’s not enough to merely exist—we must awaken, educate ourselves, and strive to leave the world better than we found it.
